About the Role:
We’re looking for a Paid Media Strategist to join our fast-growing team and drive measurable results across multiple business lines—wholesale, retail, and direct-to-consumer. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Growth Marketing Director and Paid Creative Strategist to plan and execute performance media campaigns, optimize budgets, test creative, analyze results, and scale our paid media presence across emerging channels.
Responsibilities:
Performance Media Execution:
- Launch, and optimize paid media campaigns across core platforms — including Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads — to drive growth and achieve performance targets.
- Manage campaign budgets and pacing on a weekly basis, ensuring efficient allocation of spend while maximizing return on investment (ROI).
- Optimize media and creative assets by analyzing performance data, iterating on ad copy, creative formats, and audience targeting to hit platform-specific KPIs.
- Work on developing and executing a robust paid media testing roadmap in collaboration with the Director of Marketing — including experimenting with new ad products, audiences, placements, or formats to unlock scalable growth opportunities.
- Expand and diversify paid media channels by exploring and testing opportunities on emerging platforms such as Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube, and others to reach new audiences and drive incremental growth.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance regularly, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve results and meet revenue goals.
- Prioritize key performance metrics such as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Cost per Acquisition (CPA), and Click-Through Rate (CTR) to inform decision-making and reporting.
- Stay current with platform trends and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and performance across channels.
Creative Testing & Analytics:
- Experimentation & Execution: Upload, launch, and manage creative tests across Meta, Google, and TikTok to uncover top-performing ads and identify new growth opportunities.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze creative performance data to generate actionable insights, collaborating with the Creative Strategist to shape testing roadmaps and inform overall content strategy.
- Reporting & Communication: Compile and deliver weekly creative performance reports for the team, and support the Director in leading monthly deep-dive reviews to highlight trends, key learnings, and future campaign opportunities.
Who You Are:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in digital marketing, with a focus on paid social (Meta, TikTok) and paid search (Google Ads).
- Agency or brand-side experience managing campaigns for eCommerce, retail, or B2B brands is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of performance marketing metrics (ROAS, CPA, CTR, etc.) and how to use them to guide decision-making.
- Proficiency in key ad platforms (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads) and familiarity with analytics tools such as Northbeam, Google Analytics, Shopify or platform dashboards.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights and clear recommendations.
- Comfortable with testing and optimizing creative, audiences, and bidding strategies in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

You have been given a $100,000/month budget to promote Bushbalm’s professional skincare line to estheticians and spa owners in North America, particularly to drive new estheticians into the Professional program. Build a paid media strategy and media plan outlining:
- Channel mix (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Programmatic)
- Targeting strategy (audiences, geographies, funnel stages)
- Creative approach and key messages
- Suggested campaign structure (prospecting vs. retargeting, ad groups, etc.)
- Budget allocation & expected KPIs (e.g., CPM, CTR, CPL, ROAS)
- Measurement plan and reporting cadence

We do have staff who work remotely, but our HQ is in downtown Ottawa.
We're still a small, tight knit team. Most of our team is located in Ottawa, Canada, but we now have employees spanning across the world remotely.
To date, Bushbalm is in over 5,000 waxing salons, and on shelves nation wide at Ulta Beauty.
We're growing our team and departments at a fast pace. Our most mature departments are Marketing and Product Development.
Other departments that are well established include Operations, Customer Service, Design and Finance.
Our team is primarily headquartered in Ottawa, Canada.
We're open to remote candidates, but would like to hire first in Ottawa, so we can gather easily. In regards to your workday, we are a flex model and allow employees to work remote when they wish.
