With a powerhouse eCommerce presence, a rapidly expanding retail footprint, and a strong network of waxing professionals, we’re disrupting the skincare industry in a big way. At Bushbalm, you’ll join a fast-moving, passionate team where innovation, collaboration, and career growth go hand in hand. If you're ready to make an impact, we’d love to meet you!

Why Join Bushbalm?

  • Be part of a rapidly growing and innovative skincare brand making waves in the beauty industry.
  • Work in a collaborative and fun environment that values creativity and fresh ideas.
  • Gain strong opportunities for career growth and professional development.
  • Help expand a brand that is available in Ulta Beauty locations nationwide and 17,000+ waxing salons.

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, ambitious, and self-driven Packaging & Production Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Product Development and Brand Creative teams to develop a broad range of assets, including packaging, retailer displays, mechanicals, product mockups, and digital renderings. You will work alongside the Senior Packaging & Production Designer throughout the entire process, from initial concept to final production, ensuring brand consistency, technical accuracy, and seamless execution across all formats.

If you're passionate about beauty, print design, and creating visually impactful work, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark at a fast-growing skincare brand.

This role is an existing vacancy. The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000 CAD.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design packaging, retailer displays, mechanicals, product mockups, and digital renderings in close collaboration with the Product Development and Brand Creative teams.
  • Ensure all designs maintain a consistent and cohesive brand identity across all consumer touch points.
  • Provide innovative and practical design solutions that support product development and marketing strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, consumer insights, and the social media landscape to bring fresh, relevant recommendations to the team.
  • Prepare and manage print-ready artwork files with precision, including die lines, bleed, colour profiles, and print specifications.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on digital proofs and printer proofs to ensure accuracy in colour, typography, material finish, and structural integrity.
  • Apply expertise in print production and colour theory to deliver high-quality materials across multiple formats.
  • Manage and organize all design assets, production files, and packaging specifications in shared drive systems.
  • Understand and apply regulatory requirements for packaging, including warning and hazard symbols, text sizing, and labelling standards (including Canadian bilingual requirements).
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and third-party collaborators to ensure projects are executed efficiently and on time.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve production processes under tight deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Who You Are:

  • Degree or diploma in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging design, ideally within beauty, fashion, or consumer goods.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and Mac OSX.
  • Deep knowledge of print production processes, packaging materials, substrate options, and die line preparation.
  • Experience with digital render development and the ability to create realistic 2D/3D product mockups.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in branding, typography, and CPG packaging design.
  • Solid understanding of colour theory and CPG design best practices.
  • Experience designing for in-store retail environments, including shelf displays and marketing assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver on tight deadlines independently.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to clearly articulate design decisions to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French is a strong asset.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Flexible work environment (remote/hybrid options where applicable).
  • Health and wellness benefits, including a lifestyle spending account.
